<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

today was a good day. i relaxed. why not? why shouldn't i relax? that's what i thought. yeah, i made it to class, but i really wasn't all there. it was torture for a while.. my 1200 class i have to sit in the front row, so i can't outright fall asleep. but there's this huge gap between 1218 and 1255 that has intermittent visions of the world righting itself as i bring my head up off my shoulder. somehow i made it through. that's the beauty of being tired during the day. it's excruciating to stay awake during the class, but you're drowsy enough to not remember much about it afterwards. it's like you're on natural pain medication. but yeah, i was on vacation. normally i hate the waste of class time, when i'm sitting there and i'm processing the lecture much faster than the professor is giving it. so i write letters, i read for fun, i read for my next class, i do my homework. i call it an efficient use of my (very valuable) time. (no snide remarks people, i won't tolerate it). i've been called disrespectful by more than one. i try to be discreet, but i don't always succeed (bringing to mind two dressing downs i got from two separate professors. that's another blog entry in and of itself). today, i did none of that. apologies to my sister, to whom my next letter is due, but i just sat there and stared at the professor. i suppose that's what you're supposed todo, and maybe take some notes? it was kind of boring. i'm not dissing the prof at all, he's a cool guy, but i can think faster than he can talk. i suppose i could have joined the discussion, but there's too many people in the class. so between vegging and sleeping, i made it through the afternoon.

it was good day (i'm repeating myself here i know). why? because i didn't worry about anything. my biggest concern of the day was wondering how i was going to make it through Book of Acts without falling asleep with my head on the desk. if that's all i have to worry about, then life is going to be easy indeed.
