so it's thursday already. this comes as a surprise to me. oh yeah, i'm leaving for the weekend too. the closer i get to this weekend, the more i realize that i really shouldn't go anywhere. but marcus is really looking forward to this visit. today i had a presentation in fi theory. it went really well. i was pleased. if anyone wants to hear a good presentation on wingtip vorticies, believe me, i can fill you in.stories from my spring break trip are coming, albeit slowly.
okay, fox news today aggravated me. first they do a segment on anti-war protesters. then they segue with a comment on how a lot is heard of them, but little about others. so they did a segment on pro-american's. those were the sides. pro-american vs. anti-war. alright, what kind of moronic logic is that!? they show anti-war protesters getting arrested, then they cut to people waving american flags to a convoy. then they have a radio clip of some caller saying he's sick and tired of all these anti-american protesters, we need to show support for our military. ignorant hotheads like him kinda lead a person to wonder how good this "pro-american" thing really is.
the message was undeniable. because i happent o be anti-war, i am now anti-american. so the only thing america stands for is war eh? in that definition, i guess i would be anti-american.
sure, i have a number of disagreements with the concept of "america" nowadays, but there are still aspects of it that i strongly support, namely those aspects that coincide with my viewpoint as a christian. a godly nation, an emphasis on the family as the backbone of the nation, freedom of religion.. these are all things that (while perhaps fading from our current nation) i look to as good in america, at least as it has been at some point in teh past and could be again in the future, and still is in many places in the present.
