<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

so i went back to school for the weekend.  took five days off, spent two of them driving.   but it was worth the drive.  it was p and i, we took my car.   which means that i changed oil just six days ago and need to do it again.  saw a lot of friends, watched a few movies.  this was my first time watching the italian job.  i was ver impressed.  that is, it's clean.  whaddayaknow.

so i'm settled into a trailer house with two other guys.  we each have our own bedroom (don't go in mine, i'm still a class two disaster area).  we split the grocery bill, which struck me kinda odd at first, but i like it.. it works out cheaper in the long run.  we have an informal non-posted rotation of who cooks (usually, whoever's hungriest first cooks).  by the way, don't drink the milk in the fridge, it and us are not on friendly terms right now (i'm going to make some cookies out of it, that is, once i remember what the cookies are called so i can look them up in a cookbook).  i'm needing to visit wallyworld for some potting soil rather desperately now.  i trimmed my chives today, but my poor little (or notsolittle) tomato plant is going to need some expansion room.  however, the soil here would not be very accurately described by the noun "soil."  i'm eager to plant the mint tea sprouts i have too, hopefully in another month i can start having tea.

one of us needs to get married (preferably the guy with the largest room).  this trailer had the two guys and a couple in it when i first came out here.  the couple wanted a place of their own (imagine that) and moved out a week after i got here (thus explaining why i spent the first week sleeping in the living room).  but sadly, after not even two weeks of their absence, this place is sadly in need of a woman's touch :).  (..of course, if i could afford to get married, i wouldn't be living here in the first place.)

i started flying last week, that went well.  an interesting bit of aviation trivia for you:  autopilots were created in order to do the exact same thing i'm doing, hold course and altitude.  the only reason a robot hasn't put me out of a job is because robotics are too expensive.  flying those planes is a weird mix of automation and antiquity.  the load is applied with great precision [3] and minimal pilot intervention.  we've even got video cameras to confirm that the flies are dispersing.  however, for somereason we still have to get up, unlatch the lid, grab a flashlight, and look inside  the box to see how many flys are left.  it's about like holding an ammeter out the window of a dodge viper to see how fast you're going.

speaking of going...
i want to be able to eat cereal in the morning (refer to the warning about milk)
