<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

in church this morning we sang a song that contained the line, "he aids us against our enemies".  i don't know off hand if that comes directly from a bible verse, but if nothing else, David obviously thought it was so (read a random psalm).  come to think of it, it probably comes directly from a random psalm.  so i'll grant it biblical accuracy.  my observation is this:  what becomes of this line when you also recognize that my chief enemy is myself?

Lead me not into temptation (I can find the way myself)  -unknown

so doing a little substitution:  "he aids us against ourselves".  well, like they say, only God can do the impossible :).

"I can resist everything except temptation."  â€”Oscar Wilde
