<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

in journal..  2 march '01 (sophomore), fri 7pm  (...obviously depressed to pieces)

A person once asked me. "Why do you like to draw smilies?" I didn't know what to say. Why do I draw smilies? How am I supposed to know? Could it simply be that I don't smile often enough on my face, and I feel I need to make up for lost time wih my pen? "Well," I responded, "I draw smilies, because no matter how crooked I draw the eyes, they still smile at me. They never complain, they're absolutely selfless. I learn from them."
