<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

you know, love triangles are such wicked things.. the implicated dolor gives shivers of agony at just the thought.

do you konw what pavlovian means?  a predictable reaction.  like my reaction every time my alarm clock goes off in the morning...

ah, and then there's mercurial.  characterized by rapid and unpredictable changeableness of mood.  like me everytime i hang out with my friends past bedtime while consuming too much caffeine.

people put themselves through such misery.  there are alternatives, but they can be hard to see i guess.

i flew for 26.0 hours this week.  in that time i probably covered over 4000 miles, without going more than 40 miles from base.

i fell asleep this afternoon at the dining room table.  the deception of the Gibeonites could no longer hold my attention, so i put my head down and was quickly out.  i haven't done htat since i was in school.  i woke up forty minutes later drenched in sweat--not to mention with my arms and legs asleep.  after sitting bug-eyed for two minutes waiting for things to get back to normal (they never did) i gingerly got up and staggered across the living room.  it was high time to open some windows and get some airflow going.  hten i climbed in the shower and tried to wake up.  as usual, i ran it out of hotwater, which was actually refreshing in this eighty degree weather.  after that i had to brush my teeth, ver ver badly.  today i had my first ever personal homemade chocolate milkshake.  i don't know where my brain was, but i never connected the milk in milkshake with actual cow's milk until today when pete started pouring bona-fide whole milk into his cup of icecream.  i naively thought he was using a cup because all the bowls were dirty.  i was wrong.  not that the bowls weren't all dirty.  i had my vanilla icecream/ butterscotch/ magic shell concoction already created on a desert plate.  curiosity didn't have to work too hard before i was soon at work on my own milkshake.  it tasted okay, but it was a tad much after a plate full of icecream, butterscotch topping, and magic shell.  (which is in essence glorified candy).  brian's been telling me i'm goign to come down with diabetes with the amount of sugar i consume (he started this after teasing me for asking the waiter for more sugar packets the last time we were eating out.  i'm sorry, but iced tea at resturantes is in sad sad sad shape and i am not going to touch that carcinogen they call sweetener--perhaps i was a bit overboard, but i like slurping up a quarter inch layer of sugar from the bottom of my cup.).  now i'm paranoid (not that it stopped me from downing two cans of mt. dew this evening)... i need to call mom and see if hteyre's any truth to his threat.  diabetes doesn't sound appealing.

I sleep, but my heart is awake...

     Q. Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of what?
     A. Their birthplace. This is called propinquity.

i'm currently living 2185 miles from my birthplace.
