mental instability: the direct result of a sleep deficit.stomach instability: the direct result of drinking mountain dew on an empty stomach, then going on to stay up late without eating anything.
cognitive instability: the direct cause of me painstakingly getting a clean bowl and spoon out of the dishwasher and taking them to my room before taking them back to the kitchen to get some cereal and milk to go in the bowl, before returning to my room again.
from wikipedia
Typically, for every two hours awake, the average person accumulates a little more than one hour of sleep debt. (aka, you should be asleep one third of your life).
Many people can accumulate 30 or 40 hours of a sleep debt, and show no obvious signs of impairment.
Accumulating 50 to 60 hours of sleep debt can be dangerous. Some people, after accumulating this much sleep debt, are susceptible to sudden dropping into short periods of micro-sleep. This can happen during repetive activities such as driving, especially when the individual has had a recent relief of stressful situations.
micro-sleep. ha, i've been there. i'm just going to close my eyes... four seconds later i'm awake again, aware only that i have no memory of those four seconds. not dozing, but out like a light. but i gave up that awful habit a long time ago.
which doesn't explain very whell what i'm doing up right now.
granted, it's only one o'clock. and i've had a regular seven hours of sleep for a good number of nights. i can't even do those six day runs of two and three hour nights anymore...there's no motivation. i have absolutely zero motivation to do it.
which doesn't explain very well what i'm doing up right now.
fur elise really is a beautiful piece. i can't decide whether "the man from snowy river" adds or detracts from it.
food for thought, (http://www.commondreams.org/views04/0203-10.htm) regarding the past superbowl fiasco. (caution, the article would be considered risque by some, unless they agree with it)
