"The marketing parallels between nicotine and caffeine are pretty stunning," says psychopharmacologist Roland Griffiths, Ph.D. "Both are psychoactive drugs. Until recently, cigarette companies denied that nicotine is addicting and said it was added merely as a flavor enhancer for cigarettes. The same is being said for caffeine."quote from a hopkinsmedicine.org press release. i did some interesting research this morning. here's another website if you're interested:
CSPI press release which contains a very informative chart on individual brands of pop and how much caffeine they contain.
then i got sidetracked and started looking up nutrition information on fast food joints. nutritiondata.com is an excellent website/tool. it's got all sorts of cool information on it.
i was looking for Carl's Jr. double six dollar burger (that sick monstrosity with a full pound of beef), but it's not on any of their charts. here's their chart, check out the western bacon six dollar burger, then i dare you to go order two and eat them.
