<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

here's a good quote:

ALL MEN ARE EQUAL, BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS

ever heard it?  here, it's an adaptation of George Orwell's punchline from Animal Farm, which states that "all animals are equal, but..."

since his book was a 125 page slam on communism, i would find it artistically pleasing to find that he pulled the quote from actual communist propoganda, but that might be too perfect.  at anyrate, it expressed the point of his book very well.  it's a short read, i recommend it.  (of course i do, it's a classic.  riiight.  but yes, i actually like this one).  it almost got me fired up, but between it beign short and the ending being so complete, i didn't work up the energy.  plus, the ussr collapsed, so there's nothing to get fired up about anyway.  i liked the book.  i found it extremely well written and suitibly sarcastic.
