well. hmi neglected to follow my self-imposed guidlines regarding movies tonight.
never watch a movie with aviation in it. the fallacies ruin the entire movie.
{sigh}
in other news, i've decided once again to learn spanish. i make this resolution every few months, but never get around to doing anything about it. this time i am. really [2].
i went to the mall here tonight to see what was to be seen. a lot of stuff was to be seen. somehow i still managed to come out without buying anything, though i was tempted a bit once or twicet. i didn't realize that spending money could be so hard. except on food. i can spend money on food. because i like food, see?
a shout out to samantha, because yes, i am indeed posting. even though i just wrote three days ago. i'm actaully not so far from you anymore: only 1100 miles instead of 1650. back to speaking spanish, i hitched a ride on our bi-weekly milk run to see what mexico had to offer. here, ifn' you're intrested in a map.
as it stands i only have another week on the sunny side of things before i mosy back to colder climes for new years and a dentist apointment. haven't had one in a while, i'm sure this one's going to be a blast.
now wild wild west just came on. i'm sure that's going to be a .. uh .. blast too. if my sources are even halfway correct, rapping wasn't exactly a genre before the 1970's, much less the 1870's. but it's hollywood, we're supposed to suspend belief, right? unless it involves airplanes, then it's by the book only :).
speaking of books, i've sadly been a bit shy around them lately. returning from groundschool stateside in late novembre, i read in quick succession out of the silent planet, perelandra, and the first third of that hideous strength before my headlong flight from responsibility caught up with me. in between sharp raps as it banged my head against the cobblestones, i managed to finish that hideous strength, which really deserved more attention than i gave it. it wound on a bit, but had some fascinating studies contained within, if one could but give it some time.
but i've been high and dry since then, haven't touched nary a drop no sir. i mean nary a book. i think kicking the habit is goign to be too hard.
