mistakes i made today:i know we're not supposed to dwell on our mistakes, but i've never been very good at doing what i'm supposed to do. ...mistake number one.
i forgot my breakfast/lunch in the fridge at the apartment. i noticed this when i reached the airport and decided to have a bite to eat while i waited for the guys to show up. a sinking feeling occured in my stomach that was a tragic mix of hunger, wounded astonishment, and sad realization of a dim future. i know i've often said that a little starvation now and hten builds charachter. it's true. but i for one have never been fond of charachter building excersices, particuarly when they separate me from the vital life-giving element of food.
instead of printing three copies of my inbound paperwork, i only printed two. i discovered this after i was already in the terminal. the resulting eight minute walk back to the hangar did me good, after sitting in an airplane for five hours. (lest you think me superhuman, i had already consumed the leftovers from dinner two nights ago that i left in the fridge at work, before attempting something so dangerous and ardorous as a .3mi walk over asphalt).
after getting fuel, i came back to the hangar and probably made the mistake of wasting too much time surfing the web. everything from pictures of titan to quotes by Benjamin Disraeli. he's got a cool last name, but it loses some of its mystery in learning he was jewish.
first the sarcastic:
The most dangerous strategy is to jump a chasm in two leaps.
then the somewhat more profound:
Grief is the agony of an instant. The indulgence of grief the blunder of a life.
a bit too specific for my tastes. there are many things of which could be said, "the indulgence of _____ [is] the blunder of a life[time]".
then i decided to drink a pepsi. this was another mistake.
then i remembered that i still had work to do, so i went outside to do it. i tried to vault onto the wing instead of levering myself up like normal. this was another mistake.
due to my extraordinary athletic ability (which somehow failed to enable me to succesfully vault onto a wing a mere five feet off the ground), i managed to land uninjured, even with dignity. but only because nobody was watching.
since then i haven't made nary a single mistake. (just many multiple ones). and that's not even counting typo's.

being lazy and having an empty inbox, the following images are merely resized, not thumbnailed. if you have dialup and wish to complain, you will handily fix the empty inbox problem. but be forewarned, the reason i have an empty inbox is because people get tired of emailing me and never recieving responses...
Tuxtla looking east, the airport front and center...
...holding in position on the runway while this joker backtaxis.
don't know where he gets off using my runway :).
yours truly. i'm not actually this pale, i toned down the saturation for effect. i'm actually somewhat blotchy.. something to do with 1/3 the normal atmospheric pressure.
between buff bay and annoto bay, NE coast looking NW. not quite to scale, but the name slartibartfast still comes to mind...
...now looking SE, i "think" that might be buff bay on the left edge, but doesn't look right.
now i'm obviously too bored for my own good. we'll call it:
fire and brimstone
