the world is an alllll-right place now. thanks to walmart.didn't think i'd ever say that did you? neither did i. and evil upon evil, it was a walmart in mexico, where the evil multinational corporation is taking over the small mom and pop joints just like it did stateside last decade. i guess it's alright because it's not actually called "walmart" in mexico. it's green and white instead of blue and grey, and the name starts with a "b". but it's definately walmart, right down to the "great value" brand mermelada de fresa i picked up. interesting. the label says made for "nueva wal-mart de mexico".
but the reason i went in was to buy a pair of fingernail clippers. that i got side-tracked into the food aisles is another matter altogether, and here is where i would launch into a rant against the impulse purchasing tactics of hyperstores like wally world, but i won't, because i'm feeling very benignant towards walmart for providing me with a pair of fingernail clippers.
i clipped them before i left home, then left my clippers there so i wouldn't have to drag them all over God's green earth (or brown earth, as the case was more true this time). unfortuneatly i misjudged the vibrancy of my youth and wound up on the wrong side of just right. maybe i had too much calcium. i have my doubts, but i did consume a fair amount of the cheese. but it was very good cheese, so i'm thinking it was worth the price. especially now that i can type these words without interference thanks to the fingernail clippers.
anyway, such is my ode to walmart. take what you can get oh ghost of sam walton, because it's likely to be all you're going to get from me. just be glad i wasn't in the states to see whatever easter extravaganza you pulled off this year. ah yes, but being sidetracked. i was alllmost sidetracked by a stack of easter candy. fortuneatly (or unfortunately), i was lacking a credit card and was simultaniously a bit shy on pesos. so i saved up for the first banana's i've bought since last year. they'll be the first i've et since the new year. though i've had my fair share of some very good fried platinos in the past couple weeks.
i just had to remind myself that the world is an alllll-right place after checking airline ticket prices for an upcoming trip i want to take. that's right. it's alllll-right.
