<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

{sigh} poor me.

i mean, after all, isn't life supposed to get easier as you go on?

last evening it rained.  a steady gentle rain that pattered on for three hours.  it was peaceful and soothing as it drummed on the canvas of our portable hanger.  but in doing so it drowned out the rock music i was blasting from the office fifty feet away.

then this morning.  i was trying to cut up a banana into my cornflakes.  hold it too low, and the banana peel gets in your cereal.  hold it too high and the falling banana chunks send corn flakes flying everywhere.

and then i had to choose.  should i use the local grown dark honey (which is very good btw), or should i use the local grown brown sugar (which is very good btw).  i only had time for one bowl of cereal, so i couldn't have both.

and then the killer.  i went out on the balcony to enjoy my cereal and the view simultaneously.  it was all green and clear from the rain (i could see milk river 36 miles away), but it was also cold!  not only did i have to put a shirt on, but socks too (socks, can you believe it??).
