<< Sarcasm Scale >>

An explanation...

[0] = drop dead serious

[1] = no sarcasm, take it at face value

[2] = light banter

[3] = sarcastic, but still in a good mood

[4] = very sarcastic, almost enough to make you take a step back and say, "whoa"

[5] = very sarcastic, perhaps a skosh overboard [3] (and typically it means I'm upset)

Kyle and I were in the middle of a serious and important discussion (i think it had something to do with him "needing" a new pickup) when he offered some weak excuse about it not being a "justifiable expense".  it was at that point that I succumbed to a stroke of genious (i'm doing this all the time, i should ease off and save them for special occasions because he didn't even blink).

who needs justification when you have rationalization?

unfortunately, this still wasn't enough to influence him into buying a new pickup for me to use :( .

and Jen was kind enough to pass this one on to me this evening:

"An optimist loans his car to his son. A pessimist doesn't. A cynic did." --Anonymous

the truth has such a clear ring to it, doesn't it? >).
